With the dismissal of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, there have been doubts about the future of the CPEC, the mega project worth $62 billion. There has been buzzing stories if the government of Pakistan would adhere to the project without Sharif heading it.
As it seems, the mega project under One Belt One Road will continue to be followed by the government despite the change in leadership change. It is a crucial project between Pakistan and China since the relationship between the two countries is well known for its stability.
In case any force inside China or Pakistan tried to scrap CPEC, the result would be terrible for both sides. Pakistan would not have a viable economic plan without CPEC anymore. As for China, without CPEC the whole gambit on its Belt and Road including building other five economic corridors linking East Asia to Europe could be wiped out since CPEC is the flagship of all those projects.
