Report: 3 CPEC Projects halted

According to a latest report, China has stopped 3 CPEC road projects including the 210km Dera Ismail Khan – Zhob Road, 110km Khuzdar – Basima Road, and the 136km rest of the part of Karakoram Highway from Raikot to Thakot.

The projects cost around Rs. 81 billion, Rs. 19.76 billion, and Rs. 8.5 billion, respectively. They are projected are haled till further notice from Beijing. This decision may have an impact on various other projects by NHA’s that have a value of around Rs. 1 trillion.

These projects were under Pakistan government’s own establishment plan at first. However, later NHA announced to hand them over to China under CPEC.
