Report: over 800 candidates appointed for CPEC security

According to a new report, over 800 candidates have been appointed in the Special Protection Unit (SPU) which is dedicated to ensure the security of CPEC. The Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) made this announcement. The purpose for this appointment is to increase manpower and make sure the finest security measures for projects under CPEC.

The Sindh police spokesman intimated that IGP Khowaja had given recommendations to the provincial government for appointment of 813 candidates, out of a total of 1,047  placed on a waiting list on completion of recruitment in the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Rapid Response Force (RRF).

Top 813 candidates on the waiting list would be given letter of appointment pretty soon he said. The Special Protection Unit’s total strength would then rise from 1,588 to 2,401, he further noted.
