According to a latest report, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is going to start direct flights from Islamabad to Gwadar thanks to CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor). PIA is looking to gain air traffic and lessen its losses and this step will help it achieve its goal.
PIA faced over Rs319.1 billion in accumulated losses by March 2017. However, the airline of the nation is looking to improve things by adding profitable destinations to its schedule.
According to PIA Chief Executive Officer Musharraf Rasool Cyan:
“We would connect Islamabad and Gwadar by the end of this year (December 2018). Being the national carrier, we feel the responsibility for improving connectivity through Pakistan.”
