The Cabinet takes a thorough briefing on CPEC


According to latest news, the federal cabinet decides to get a thorough
briefing on China Pakistan Economic Corridor in a meeting held on
January 12 the in the Prime Minister Office. It was stressed that the
government is committed to providing the non-stop power supply to the
consumers.

The cabinet also directed the process of filling the positions that are
vacant in several ministries. Fatiha was also offered for the departed
souls of human rights activist Asma Jahangir and the Sindh minister Mir
Hazar Khan Birjani.

The cabinet gave approvals for an agreement between the
government’s Ministry of Energy and Oman Ministry of Oil and Gas for
the provision of natural gas and POL products between the two
governments.

In the meeting, the cabinet also approved the agreement of signing and
its letter of intent on the cooperation between Pakistan and Italian
the government in the LNG field.

The cabinet also gave approvals to Anti-Terrorism Rules 2018. Cabinet
approved the notification of WAPDA Hydro Electric Tarrif for 2017-18
set by NEPRA. The cabinet also gave directions to determine tariff for
Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In the meeting, the cabinet valued the extra generation capacity in the
power sector was also stressed that the government is committed to
guarantee the non-stop power supply to the consumers.
