According to a British newspaper, Gwadar has a grand potential to become the future Dubai. Gwadar Sea Port will develop a union between Pakistan and China that will up-end the power balance in Asia, the newspaper added.
As China is eager to maintain its position among the neighbouring countries, CPEC plan greatly stresses on the bilateral planning and infrastructure for benefit of the neighboring countries. Considering CPEC, the article states:
“The deal goes something like this: Pakistan gets massive and much-needed infrastructure investment while China gets access to warm water port 350 miles from the Straits of Hormuz – a key part of its “one belt one road” initiative to develop commercial logistics links with Europe. So I would not question that they have far more objectives than a win-win for China and Pakistan in economic terms. They want to compete with the United States. This gives them the security leverage that they desperately need.”
