Jhimpir Power is the first clean energy project of Burj Capital in Pakistan, the wind project is operational now

The 50MW wind project, Jhimpir Power, is the first clean energy project of Burj Capital in Pakistan. It became operational on 16 March 2018 and was inaugurated on 2nd May, 2018 by Burj Capital.

 

Burj Capital is a Dubai based investment firm dedicated to renewable power development. It focuses on utility scale as well as distributed generation strategies.

 

The wind project is sited in Jhimpir, in the Gharo-Keti Bandar wind corridor in Southeast Pakistan. It is installed with 29, 1.7-103 GE wind turbines. PowerChina
Huadong is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor of the project.
Wind and solar power have emerged as the most affordable est sources of electricity globally thanks to the advancements made in technology.
The Jhimpir wind corridor together with solar power can be developed into a resource of national signifiance combined with a strong regulatory framework put in place by Pakistani Government. It will help lessen Pakistan’s dependence on costly imported fuels and offer clean and cheap electricity to Pakistanis.
