CPEC: Allocation of Rs 486.726 Mln will help develop Pakistan’s IT Industry

According to the latest news, the domestic information technology industry of Pakistan is likely to boost thanks to the government for allocating Rs 486.726 million for Expansion and up-gradation of NGMS (3G/4G) services and seamless coverage along KKH in GB (Gilgit Baltistan).

The project is one of the significant of all the projects by ministry. Rs. 2658.713 million have earmarked for 8 schemes of IT and telecom that are on-going for the fiscal year 2018-19 in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).


Ministry of IT and telecom said that ongoing scheme related to the CPEC include, Construction of Cross Border OFC System Between China and pakistan for International Connectivity of voice/Data Traffic and Provision of Seamless GSM Coverage Along KKH for Proposed Gwadar Kashighar Economic Corridor in GB.


The mega project that includes the building of roads, ports, dams, serving unserved areas offers a boost to the economy which is much needed. It will prove to be useful to the IT industry too, the ministry noted.
