Talking to media, the spokesperson of China’s National Development and Reform Commission, Meng Wei, declared Gwadar port as one of the mega projects where $248 million have already been invested. She said that Chinese investment has reached $70 billion in countries involved in Belt and Road Initiative since 2013.
She added that with $27 billion, 75 overseas economic zones has been set upped and created 200,000 jobs. Moreover, contracts have been made with 88 countries for joint construction of Belt and Road initiative. While 142km long high speed rail project has been completed in Jakarta, China-Europe rail service has covered 42 cities and 14 countries in Europe so far. She explained that all economies are welcome to join Road and Belt initiative as it is beneficial for China and other economies.
