Dania Hassan, an 18 years old, was honoured by US State Department among 10 outstanding young leaders around the world with Emerging Young Leaders’ Award. The ceremony was held in Washington where she was awareded for her efforts to promote positive social change in the education sector of Pakistan.
She established “Fun to Learn”, an organization conduct extracurricular programming in underprivileged schools after attending summer school at John’s Hopkins University through the US Summer Sisters Exchange Programme. It is a programme of US Pakistan Women Council.
While congratulating Dania Hassan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to US Aizaz Chaudhry appreciated the efforts of US-Pakistan Women Council. He said “Pakistani youth and women are vibrant, passionate and robust in various fields”.
US-Pakistan Women Council also organised pre-award event to celebrate achievement of Dania. The event was attended by members of US Pakistan Business council, community members, students and officials of state department.
