CPEC will now be monitored from the space

CPEC has been considered as one of the major projects by China under its One Belt One Road Initiative. As the work in progress is taking pace and there is a critical need to monitor the progress, China has decided to launch 2 satellites in June for monitoring the progress on CPEC.

The satellites will do geo-monitoring and will provide images took from the space. These satellites are the joint venture of China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALVT) and Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).`

Preferably, the satellites will be launched with Long MARCH-2C rockets to send satellites into low earth or sun-synchronous orbits. Apart from monitoring CPEC, the satellites will also monitor ocean winds and waves and will improve communication in Pakistan’s remote areas.
