According to the latest news, the ministry of national food security and research has introduced notable measures to work for development of agriculture sector under CPEC (China Pakistan Economic Corridor).
The objective is to boost exports of agricultural products, boost per acre yield of crops, and produce high-tech products of international standards.
The policy is a part of “National Food Security Policy” by Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan, Minister for National Food Security.
As per the report, the ministry will make feasibility reports of trad-able commodities for each sub zone along the corridor.
They will also carry out pilot testing of rural businesses for the identified commodities and coordination for development of business zones along the corridor.
In addition, the government will conduct a series of training programs for capacity building of rural entrepreneurs and agricultural service providers.
