Report: Pak-China agree to cooperate at SCO summit

According to recent news, Mamnoon Hussain, the President of Pakistan, is expected to lead a delegation for Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit (SCO) which is going to be held at 9th and 10th of June. CPEC is gaining more importance especially because of the upcoming general elections of Pakistan.


Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Masood Khalid has said that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Mamnoon Hussain will have a meeting with Xi Jinping, the Chinese Prime Minister, to enhance bilateral cooperation.


Masood Khalid further stated:


“Pakistan and China will sit together at the highest level and undertake to bilateral cooperation especially in the context of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which is making smooth progress, but we have other areas of cooperation which are coming under CPEC, which would be discussed during the meeting”.


At SCO Summit President Mamnoon will deliver a speech in which he is expected to outline Pakistan’s viewpoint on regional and international cooperation.
