China taken into confidence Before inviting Saudi Arabia in CPEC:

On Thursday 20 September 2018 In a press conference, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Mr Fawad Chaudhry highlighted that Pakistan has invited Saudi Arabia to join CPEC and Saudi Arabia is agreed to join CPEC as a third strategic partner.

After this announcement former interior and planning minister, Ahsan Iqbal raised a question on Twitter.

Has China been taken into confidence over Saudi Arabia joining the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project as a strategic partner?

“Has China been taken into confidence? CPEC is a bilateral project in which induction of any other country has to have the concurrence of both sides,” Ahsan Iqbal wrote on his Twitter account.

In a response to former interior and planning minister, Ahsan Iqbal’s Tweet. Mr Fawad Chaudhry replied that,

Yes China has been taken into confidence, expansion of CPEC is in China and Pakistan Interest. Pakistan will be a center of economic activity of this region, the era of darkness is over.”

Saudi Arabia Ready To Join CPEC As A Third Strategic Partner

 

This is a good news for Pakistan, as Pakistan is expecting a massive investment from Saudi Arabia that will help Pakistan to recover its ailing economy.

During the press conference, Fawad Chaudhry also informed that a high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia Including Saudi Arabia’s Finance Minister and Energy Minister is visiting Pakistan in October’s first week to discuss security and trade concerns.

The projects in which Saudi Arabia is going to invest will be announced after the visit of Saudi ministers.
