China rejects the allegations of excessive charges for CPEC

According to reports, China has denied allegations of charging excessively for infrastructure projects along the USD 46 billion CPECBSE -4.45 % and not allowing competitive bidding in Pakistan. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying stated in this regard:
“I don’t know from where you got this information but as far as I know the situation is different from what you just described. We mentioned many times that CPEC is a cooperation framework established based upon the long-term interests of the two countries.”
“It is open and transparent and is based upon the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and assured benefits and the international companies participate in this project based upon market rules. I believe that this project will not only serve the interests of the two countries but also improve the connectivity in the region.”
