Ahsan Iqbal: Geopolitical equilibrium in the region has changed thanks to CPEC

Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, recently stated that  new internal security policy is directed towards establishing a new paradigm on security and peace. He made this statement while addressing a national conference on ‘Internal Security: Peace and Sustainable Development’.

Diplomats, retired armed forces officers, government representatives as well as students took part in the event.

CPEC has changed the geopolitical equilibrium in the region because of which new geopolitical pressures are developing in the country, he noted.
“We have to believe ourselves now, this will be the way to move forward. We have brilliant minds who make good policies but our one and only problem is ‘implementation’. We badly need to address this issue. We must develop a comprehensive approach to the ownership of all stakeholders so that we may succeed in implementation.”
