CPEC will help to boost Pakistan’s IT sector: All Pakistan Business Forum

According to a latest report, Ibrahim Qureshi, All Pakistan Business Forum President Ibrahim Qureshi, appreciated China’s investment plans and trans-national initiatives to boost border trade activities. It is the CPEC that is inspiring new opportunities to establish projects for boosting the IT sector.

 

He also noted that with foreign investment in Pakistan, it is important that all provinces get equal opportunities and budgets in order to make strong their infrastructure and trade activities in addition to IT.

According to a presser released by APBF, CPEC will include construction of cross-border optical fibre (OFC) system between Pak-China for connectivity, at the international level, of voice/data traffic and provision of GSM coverage along the Karakoram Highway for the proposed Gwadar – Kashgar Economic Corridor in GB (Gilgit Baltistan).

 

The press release reads:

 

“The CPEC initiative includes the building of roads, ports, dams, connecting cities, and serving those areas without coverage.  This will provide a much-needed improvement to the economy which will also bring benefits to the IT industry. Pakistan itself represents a major potential for people-centric mobile based applications and products which are fully prepared for the next level of development with a state-of-the-art connectivity structure with fixed and mobile networks that have a teledensity of more than 71% which is also increasing on a monthly basis.”
