Germany supporting renewable energy in Pakistan

According to a latest report, Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan, Martin Kobler, stated that Pakistan can enjoy more renewable power and make the most of it particularly wind, solar, small hydro, and biomass. He made this statement during the the signing ceremony of a MOU (memorandum of understanding) for setting up Pakistan-German Renewable Energy Forum (PGREF).

“Pakistan’s efforts in bringing renewable power into the system are appreciable. Though establishment of PGREF took more than three years, however, we see this as an opportunity of contributing in expanding the energy mix portfolio of Pakistan by integrating larger share of renewable power and bringing in more private sector investment in this sector.”

The federal minister for energy, Syed Ali Zafar, stated that the forum would help boost the efforts of Pakistan in order to capitalise the potential of clean and green energy.

“This forum would serve as a hub for renewable energy and energy efficiency business networking, customer outreach and business development in both countries.”
