First Pakistan Maritime Security Ship launched

According to the latest news, China has commissioned the first 1500-tonne Pakistan Maritime Security Ship (PMSS) in Guangzhou (China’s city) as part of China and Pakistan’s plan to increase maritime security of Pakistan under the CPEC. Having various  capabilities like anti-poaching operations, surveillance as well as anti-smuggling.


The ship is propelled by 2 state of the art diesel engines that enables  it to achieve a maximum speed of 26 knots. Also, it has an endurance of 3,500 nautical miles.


Secretary of Defence retired Lt Gen Zamirul Hassan Shah HI(M) was the chief guest at the commissioning ceremony. He appreciated the project on the commissioning ceremony. He stated that the project serves as a great security initiative, not only for Pakistan but for the whole region.


“PMSS Kashmir, as its name implies, is a symbol of our solidarity with our integral part Kashmir. The people of Kashmir are engaged in a heroic struggle and continue to lay supreme sacrifices for their rights. This ship, being the largest one in the PMSA fleet, has therefore been named Kashmir to show our resolve towards the cause of Kashmir and solidarity with our great Kashmiri brothers and sisters.”
